# Projects

> Record your project details and activity

Projects are at the core of the N3 platform. By tracking various data and trends of projects we can offer tooling to improve risk analysis and benchmarking for your portfolio.

## Create a new project

Once you are inside an [Environment](/essentials/environments), you can create a new project by clicking the create button at the top of the project list view.

  Make sure to use an appropriate name and reference for your project so it is easily identifiable.

## Adding data about your project

Once a project has been created, you need to fill in all the data N3 needs to help benchmark and report on the project.

## Deleting Projects

To maintain data integrity we do not "hard delete" data in the platform, but we will hide the project and mark it as "deleted" so it does not appear in any metrics or used in any tooling.
