What are they?

An Environment is a namespace for your projects. Multiple users can have access to an environment and each environment has the following:
  • List of projects
  • List of companies
  • A portfolio view
You can belong to one or more environments, and benchmarking tools will look at projects across all your non-sandbox environments to pull the best data possible for your analytics.

Access control

  • Users outside of your environment will not be able to access your projects or companies.
  • Anonymous data of your projects may be used in certain analytical output but no sensitive details will ever be shared.

Stages

Some environments are setup as sandboxes and preview environments which are used for demo and testing purposes. These special environments are not used in our comparison and benchmarking tools for production environments. They will be denoted by “Sandbox” or “Preview” in the name of the environment. There are three stages of environment:
StageDescription
SANDBOXDevelopment environment for testing and experimentation - Sandbox environments only use their own environment data for comparison
PREVIEWDemo environment for final testing in production-like setups. Preview environments can see other preview environments that the user has access too.
PRODUCTIONLive environment for end-users and real-world operation. Can see other production environments that the user has access too.
